The Mezuzah
Our house is compared to The Holy Temple. Every object in our home reflects on us. When art meets nature,
as precious metal meets an ancient olive tree, all that is left for the judaica artist is to transform these materials into exquisite
one-of-a kind handmade Mezuzah cases which tell the story of an ancient olive tree,
and open a wonderful portal for your imagination every time you walk through your front door. Olive trees, according to tradition, represent strength and virility,
as well as the peace we all long for.
Creating Handmade Mezuzah case
Handmade Mezuzah case or you can say mezuzot, creation process begins with basic raw material - wood.
Usually it is a branch or trunk of an olive tree.
Then the wood goes through a process of designing and carving by the vision of the judaica artist.
Along with the carving process the artist has envisions how he adds two more elements to the Mezuzah case. First - Silver decorations and precious stones.
And second - combining mezuzah “Klaf” (Parchment).
The klaf (parchment) and the Mezuzah case, Mezuzot
The “Klaf” (parchment) is actually the most important primary component in the mezuzah; therefore it should be protected and safe.
To do this, the “Klaf” is inserted in a sealed glass tube.
The Mezuzah case consisting of three main parts: wood, glass and silver.
The ability to combine these three elements by harmonic way is challenging integration,
which eventually provides a variety of creative designs. This is the essence of art.
The tube sometimes visible and sometimes hides by wooden parts of the mezuzah case,
Sometimes tou can find “windows" so the tube and inside the “Klaf” are visible
